Meeting held in the First Ward School House for the purpose of organizing a “Primary Association” [. . .]
Eliza R. Snow Smith Presiding.
[. . .] Sister. E. R. Smith. questioned the children in regard to organizing a meeting to the Gospel &c. [. . .] [p. 1]
[. . .] Sister. Eliza R. S. Smith then gave the association some very good counsil, and related many interesting story’s for their benefeit.
sister Zina D. [H.] Young Smith [. . .] then told the children that sister Eliza had a watch with her that Joseph [Smith] wore when he was alive.
Sister Eliza then arose and showed the watch. Bishop [Thomas] Judd said he felt deeply interested in these Primary Associations and felt to bless all endeavors to promote the talents of the children of this ward, felt to bless the efforts of sister. Eliza. R. S. Smith and Zina. Y. Smith, hoped the children would pay strict attention to the good counsil that [p. 2] has been given them, and uphold and pray for those who have been appointed to preside over them. Eliza. R. S. Smith said not to make the meetings a school and become tedious, have short prayers, speeches and exercises, and have them in the spirit of the Gospel. [. . .] Benediction by Eliza. R. Snow Smith.
