[. . .] Sister E [Emerine] E Bird said the object of our meeting was to reorgnise as Sister Smith was with us. [. . .] Sister Smith was pleased to meet with us but was very sor[r]y she had to come alone was glad to see such a good turn uot [out] said she would be glad to have some of the sisters attend some of the different ward meetings and conf[e]rences as they would gain many good instructions advised the young ladies to think and use their mind said the people of the world had not the kno[w]ledge [p. 108] and power of life and salvation that we have and we should do away with the evil and improve the good Said the young ladies should do away with the fashions of the day and preserve their health, she also read a lecture on health which was very good told the mothers to stir up the minds of their daughters and lay the work of mutual improvement before them.
