Councilor Mrs. E. R. Snow, said

That as the word retrenchment was so little understood by the people she would suggest the name of the association be changed, said the subject was open for discussion.

Many of the sisters made suggestions in regard to the changing of the name of the association.

Councilor Mrs. E. R. Snow, said,

I wish to impress upon the minds of all the importance of having the young ladies in each ward associated, and also the young men. All the knowledge that we can gain is useless unless we exercise our spiritual faculties. I am glad that the hearts of the sisters are warm to their work, I consider those that come to meeting are live saints. There are too many women in Zion that were asleep but, Wo to them that were, said a prophet of old and I am [a]fraid it will be so in these days. We must work for Zion and her interests. According to Sister Howards [Elizabeth A. Howard’s] suggestion the name of the society will be laid over untill next meeting. We want the best name for we wanted to be the best and noblest [n.p.] of women.
