I. From the Young Ladies Minutes
[. . .] Sister Eliza Snow Said the first to be attended to was to Elect a Secretary pro-tem moved seconded & carried unanimously that Joseph J Williams be sec-pro-tem Sister Delilia [Delila] Gardner was then unanimously Chosen President of the West Jordan Y. L. M. I. A. Sis. Snow said it was her duty to Choose Six Counsellors [. . .] Sis. Snow then gave some instructsion to the mothers & related an anecdote of George Washington & exhorted the members to be punctual in the[ink blot] [their?] duties. [. . .] Sis MacGregor said she felt there was a great resposibility placed upon the sisters here to day but if they would give heed to what Sis. Snow had said the lord would bless them Sis. Snow said when she first came into the church she made up her mind to do any and every thing she was called upon to do however hard awk[w]ard she might do it. [. . .] [p. 1]

Sister A [Althea] Cooper then said Sisters E R Snow & [Elizabeth A.] Davis was present for the purpose of Organizing A Young Ladies Mutuel Improvement Association the meeting would now give way for that purpose
After the YLMIA had been effected Sister Snow spoke to the Releif Society & said that when the members came together it was like a kind of Pic nic & evry member should bring along some portion of the Viands & not expect A few to bring the whole. [. . .] [p. 26]
