The Y L M I Association held a special meeting in consequence of a visit from Sisters Snow Davies [Elizabeth A. Davis] and [Elizabeth A.] Howard [. . .] [p. 40] [. . .] Sister Snow next addressed the meeting spoke of the efficacy of prayer and counseled the young sisters to fast and pray for those who were being persecuted for the truth said that the prophet Joseph Smith had great faith in the prayers of children for God would surely hear them said it was in the power of the young to be just what they pleased said that we did not have the redicule [ridicule] to contend with here that the young ladies of Salt Lake City had when there [their] Assoaitions [associations] were first formed and exhorted mothers to do their part towards training their children in paths of rightousness
